The industrial design is composing of the decorative aspect of an article, which may consist of either three dimensional features i.e. the shape of an article, or two dimensional features i.e. patterns, lines or color. Industrial designs is applicable to the industrial products and handicraft items for packages, containers to furnishing and household goods, lighting equipment to jewelry, electronic devices to textiles. It also relates with graphic symbols, graphical user interfaces (GUI), and logos. It is often ignored in the IP portfolios. But it is relatively inexpensive and swift to obtain the registration of the design to prevent third parties from making, selling or importing the articles bearing and embodying a design, which constitutes a copy or substantially a copy of a protected design, that is taken for exploitation of commercial purpose. It may be privileged that the design may be used either before granting patent or registration of the trademark.
